St. Edmond observes the Miracle of Fatima

October 21, 2018

Representatives from St. Edmond Catholic Church in Rehoboth observed the 101st anniversary of the Miracle of Fatima, with recitation of the Rosary at noon on Oct. 13.

The Miracle of the Sun, also known as the Miracle of Fatima, was an event that occurred on Oct. 13, 1917, and was attended by a large crowd who had gathered in Fátima, Portugal, in response to a prophecy made by three shepherd children. The prophecy was that the Virgin Mary would appear and perform miracles on that day.

Members of St Edmond gathered and recited the Rosary, and each member of the group recited 10 Hail Marys. Organizer Joan Brohawn said, “We’re praying for America to change the destructive direction it’s headed. We believe the Rosary is a powerful weapon against evil.”
