St. George’s Chapel hosts jazz mass

St. George’s Chapel in Harbeson was the scene of a jazz mass Oct. 16, featuring the Moravian Jazz Ensemble. 

The mass was one of two events hosted by the Episcopal Parish of All Saints' Church and St. George's Chapel during the Cape Region’s jazz festival weekend. 

The Moravian University Big Band, 28-piece orchestra is under the direction of Dr. Neil Wetzell, performed a concert Oct. 14, at All Saints’. 

The Oct. 16 jazz mass featured a smaller group from Moravian University, with Wetzell leading the way with the tenor sax. The band was accompanied by the All Saints’ and St. George’s Parish choir and director Jon Rania on piano.
