Starry, Starry Night benefits Delaware Tech

May 22, 2024

Delaware Tech’s Owens Campus hosted its annual Starry, Starry Night gala fundraiser April 27. Event proceeds will support the purchase of high-tech classroom equipment and provide scholarship opportunities for workforce training certificate programs and international education.

“The high-tech classroom equipment provides hands-on learning opportunities for our students, while the workforce training certificate programs prepare students for high-demand jobs that lead to long-term employment,” said Dr. Bobbi Barends, vice president and Owens Campus director.

Live entertainment was provided by Amsterdam, a band that offered a variety of music selections for the 350 guests to enjoy. And the night would not have been successful without the hard work of many volunteers, including students and alumni, as well as the college’s talented culinary team.

The college is grateful for the support of all its alumni and donors, including Bayhealth, Beebe Healthcare, Carl M. Freeman Foundation and Massey’s Landing Park Inc., who all helped raise more than $160,000 for student success and scholarships.

“We sincerely appreciate our donors, sponsors and friends from the community whose generosity and support help us deliver on our mission of keeping students at the center of everything we do,” said Delaware Tech President Mark Brainard.
