Stay Six Feet Away 5K set March 29

Everyone encouraged to participate
March 28, 2020

Sherry Wyatt, fitness director at Every1Fitness in Rehoboth Beach, was trying to think of a way to keep her gym members and the community moving and  staying fit during this pandemic. People are so upset about their gyms being closed that they’re looking for ways to stay fit.

“That’s when I approached the gym owner about having a Stay Six Feet Away 5K,” said Wyatt. “Let’s get everybody outside and walking/biking/running on the local trails or in their neighborhoods. No gatherings. Just yourself and your families. If you pass anyone else out there, just wave, smile and stay respectfully six feet away. He supported me 150 percent!”

They are doing their first Stay Six Feet Away 5K Sunday, March 29. So turn off the Netflix! Put down the cookies! Get out there and get some fresh air and be active!

Participants are asked to post pictures and selfies if out between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. And everyone can vote for a favorite! The grand prize – a T-shirt, a bottle of hand sanitizer and two rolls of toilet paper!

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay six feet away!
