Substance use education nonprofit open house set March 5
Be a Part of the Conversation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families and communities understand substance use, addiction and related health issues, is expanding its programming into Delaware.
To mark this milestone, the organization will host a community open house from 1 to 3:30 p.m., Thursday, March 5, at the Innovation Hub, 21133 Sterling Ave., Suite 12, Georgetown.
Founded in 2011, Be a Part of the Conversation equips families and communities with practical skills, educational resources and supportive spaces to explore substance use disorder and its impact on the family system. The organization emphasizes connection, compassion, lived experience and stigma reduction as key components of healing.
Open house attendees will be able to meet program leaders, learn about upcoming services and engage in conversation about how best to serve the local community. Light refreshments will be provided, and all community members are encouraged to attend, including parents, guardians, clinicians, policymakers and anyone interested in family-centered approaches to recovery.
Upcoming offerings in Sussex County will include the Family Recovery Course and a new Parent Partnership meeting designed to foster connection, education and mutual support.
Those interested in attending the open house are encouraged to RSVP to Kathy Greeley, Delaware program manager, at kathy@conversation.zone or go to conversation.zone/event/deopenhouse.
This expansion is made possible through the support of the Sussex County Health Coalition, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening prevention, education and recovery support in Southern Delaware.
