Sue Smith, a generous soul

It is with great sadness that the family of Sue Smith of Lewes announces her passing Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, at the age of 58.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Sue ran her own cleaning business and loved working as a housekeeper at the John Penrose Virden House for the nicest people in Lewes. She also enjoyed working seven summers at the T-shirt Factory in Rehoboth and was a nurse at the Lewes Convalescent Center for two years. She liked sitting on the beach and swimming with her grandson. She could also be found sewing and embroidering gifts for friends. Sue was known for her joy and generosity, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Sue is preceded in death by her mother and father, Catherine and Charles Fletcher. She is survived by her daughter Haley Harmon (Jason); grandson Elliott Harmon; sisters Joan Fletcher, Cathy Sing and Barbara Rusnak; and brother Doug Fletcher.

An informal celebration of life lunch will take place at the Wheelhouse Restaurant in Lewes Sunday, Feb. 10, from 1 to 3 p.m., for family and friends.
