The Vince Morris Outstanding Boys Swimmer Award went to Caesar Rodney’s Ryan Woodzall, right, who broke the 500 freestyle record in 4:46.42, while his teammate Danielle Stewart garnered the girls’ award after breaking the 500 free record in 5:13.56.

The Henlopen Conference girls Coach of the Year Award was presented to Sussex Academy’s Tom Martiner, left, while the boys’ Coach of the Year Award was presented to Indian River’s Colin Crandell.

Sussex Academy’s Emily Trout swims the fly leg of the medley relay. She and her teammates Tess Mariner, Gracie Maughan and Sanne Elling took first place with a time of 1:58.02.

Cape senior Thomas Weeks starts off the 200 medley relay. He and teammates Brian Fleming, Josh Turek and Josh Reinhold won the event with a time of 1:46.44.

Sussex Tech’s Neh Dinga swims the breaststroke leg of the 200 medley relay. She and her teammates Rachel Pogwist, Brynn Thornton and Cassidy Thomas finished in fourth place with a time of 2:08.87.

Sussex Academy’s Gracie Maughan swims the backstroke leg of the individual medley. She placed second with a time of 2:16.07.

Milford’s Carley Mackert swims the fly leg of the medley relay. She and teammates Allison Benton, Summer Davis and Emmerson Lefever placed sixth with a time of 2:18.38.

Sussex Academy Aquatics Director Lydia Schmierer wears her Mardi Gras outfit as she patrols the poolside to make sure everyone is being safe. She said the swimmers deserve to be celebrating a season that nobody thought would happen. She chose a Mardi Gras theme to make it a celebration of the season.
