Tango Lewes to host classes and performance March 16-17

March 11, 2019

Tango Lewes will host world-known Argentine Tango instructors Jay Abling and Rachel Moon Abling for a weekend that will include group and private lessons, a dance party and performance.

Classes will take place Saturday, March 16, at Right Balance Pilates Studio, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., behind the Plantations Clubhouse in Lewes. Those who have completed some basic tango classes may take part in an all levels class from 11:30 to 1 p.m. An intermediate level class will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. From 1 to 1:30 p.m., there will be a pot luck luncheon. Paid in advance, cost for one workshop is $25, and cost for two workshops is $45. With no reservations, classes cost an additional $5 at the door. Attendees are asked to bring food or drink to share for the pot luck lunch.

The St. Patty’s Dreaming of Spring Milonga party to include a performance by the couple will take place from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, March 17, at the Glade Clubhouse, 16 Glade Farm Road, in Rehoboth. The Ablings also invite the public to try an absolute beginners lesson at the event. Cost is $15 at the door, or $10 with a dish brought to share.

This will be a great opportunity to join in the fun before the two leave for their two-month teaching tour in Europe.

Tango Lewes is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the joy of Argentine Tango through weekly classes, social dances and special events.
