Tatnall girls’ lax downs Sussex Academy 17-8

Hornets to face Cape for state title

The Tatnall Hornets girls’ lacrosse team is no joke; once they begin swarming, they just come at the defense from all directions. 

In a DIAA semifinal game May 24, Tatnall got out and away from Sussex Academy, racing to a 13-3 halftime lead en route to a convincing 17-8 victory. 

Speedy midfielder Lydia Collasante scored her 200th career goal on the way to a five-goal, two-assist performance.

Other goal scorers for Tatnall were Kali Clayton with four, Katrina Cattermole and Charlotte Wilkinson with three each, and Teryn Singer with two. 

Goal scorers for Sussex Academy were Sanne Elling, Shelby Manlove and Macy Steinwedel with two apiece, and single goals from Annabella Guckes and Madison Leeper.

Tatnall outshot Sussex Academy 31-17.

Devon Chipman had six saves for the Hornets, while Peyton Hagy tallied 10 saves for the Seahawks.
