Theresa Ann Giove, retired secretary
Theresa Ann Giove, 90, of Rehoboth Beach passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, under hospice care. She was born March 15, 1929, in Manhattan, New York, daughter of the late Vincent and Angelina (Conte) Vitale.
Mrs. Giove was a graduate of James Monroe High School in the Bronx, N.Y., and made her career as a secretary. She loved playing golf, doing ceramics, and gardening. Mrs. Giove was president of the ladies auxiliary of the North Hills Country Club in Manhasset, N.Y., and also worked for 15 years on the annual golf tournament for Catholic Charities of the diocese of Brooklyn. In addition, she was a Paul Harris fellow of the Rotary International Foundation. Above all, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Giove was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Salvatore Giove; her sisters: Jean Rofrano, Mary Schnrider and Nancy Vitale; and her brothers: Frank Vitale and Nicholas Vitale. She is survived by her children: Dr. Susan Giove of Rehoboth Beach, Barbara Ann Coletta (John) of Huntington Bay, N.Y., and John T. Giove of Rehoboth Beach; her grandson, Eric Coletta of New York, N.Y.; her sons-in-law, Jacob Liriano of Rehoboth Beach and Kevin O’Connor of Forrest Hills, N.Y.; and her brother, Patrick Vitale (Joan) of Bronx.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Dec. 6, at 11 a.m.,at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach, where friends may visit beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
