Thomas N. Crowley Jr., retired manager
Thomas Nathaniel Crowley Jr., 92, of Lewes, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Harrison Senior Living, Georgetown. He was born Saturday, Aug. 26, 1922, in Hardwick, Vt., son of the late Thomas N. and Carrie B. (Paine) Crowley.
Mr. Crowley graduated from Rutland High School, Rutland, Vt. He furthered his education, receiving a bachelor of science degree from Yale University in 1947. In 1976 Mr. Crowley completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Mr. Crowley proudly served as a U.S. Navy ensign during World War II. He was also a retired commander of the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Mr. Crowley enjoyed a longtime career with the Bethlehem Steel Corporation Plant in Johnstown, Pa., culminating to his position of general manager. He was a past member of the Sussex Pines Country Club and former board member at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Crowley was preceded in death by his sister, Melba Blair. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy Jean (Dorian) Crowley; and one son, Thomas M. Crowley and his partner Minnie W. Shorter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 11, at 10 a.m., at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 211 Mulberry St., Lewes. Interment will be private.
