Trudy Bartell, homemaker, military wife
Trudy Bartell of Georgetown passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at Country Rest Home in Greenwood.
Trudy was born in Catlettsburg, Ky., daughter of the late Roy and Elizabeth (Hurley) Sebastian.
Trudy was a supportive military wife and loving homemaker to her family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and working in her yard; especially tending her rose bushes.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Lewes, where she had served for many years as the church treasurer. In more recent years, she attended Grace Church in Milton and First Baptist Church in Georgetown.
In addition to her parents, Trudy is preceded in death by her husband, Irving Bartell; a granddaughter, Allison Bartell; and six siblings.
She is survived by four children, Carl Bartell and wife Joy, Michael Bartell and wife Leslie, Sandy Wall and husband Larry, and Kurt Bartell; eight grandchildren, Lisa Parsons (Rick), Rebecca Pepper, Mike Bartell (Niki), Tim Wall, Adam Wall (Christina), Josh Wall (Tiffany), Margaret Bartell and Sarah Koch (Roger), and their mother, Deborah Bartell; 14 greatgrandchildren, Paige and Matthew Parsons, Madeline Pepper, Mya and Autumn Bartell, Gracelyn Wall, Laci and Laney Dixon, Connor and Colton Wall, and their mother, Andrea Wall, Peyton and Gavin Irving Bartell, and Malina and RJ Koch; one great-great-grandson, Bohen Winters; one sister, Jean Schrader; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A graveside service will be held privately.
