Turkey Trot raises $7,000 for SPCA
The 11th annual Fenwick Island Turkey Trot raised $7,000 for Brandywine SPCA for the SPCA’s efforts to evacuate animals in shelters affected by hurricanes Florence and Michael.
About 450 runners participated, along with 50 animals also taking part. The event began in 2007 and takes place Thanksgiving morning, with contributions going toward a different charity every year.
Accepting the check at Brandywine Valley SPCA’s Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Georgetown are (l-r) Turkey Trot co-chair Becka McWilliams, Brandywine Valley SPCA Community Engagement Manager Laura Page, Courtney Veirs of Veirs Bouloucon Group and Lori Martin of Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation.
