Two people rescued off Holts Landing

Jet skier hits rough water in Indian River Bay

Two people were rescued off Holts Landing near Dagsboro June 8, after officials say they were caught in rough water.

Units with Indian River, Millville, Dagsboro and Bethany Beach responded about 7:45 p.m. to Indian River Bay.

Officials said Marine 84 was able to locate the personal watercraft with one subject in the water and another subject on the PWC. Both subjects were retrieved, and the PWC was returned to the docking area. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Utility 80-8 with 80 Marine 1 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush 80 with 80 Marine 2 and Engine 80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Additional emergency alerts included the Sussex County Paramedics, the DNREC Marine Police and Park Ranger units, and the U.S. Coast Guard – Indian River Squadron.
