Legacy Academy, the only classical Christian school in Sussex County, invites local veterans to attend its third annual Veterans Day Program at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 7, at its Georgetown campus, 22860 Dupont Blvd.
“Legacy Academy celebrates veterans’ service and points to them as an embodiment of courage and sacrifice,” said Karen Barbrow, head of school. “We are proud to host this yearly presentation as a small token of our appreciation for their devotion to our country.”
As part of the program, students will perform patriotic songs and recitations. Herbert Earl Welday III, a retired U.S. Air Force chief master sergeant, will be the keynote speaker.
Veterans and their families are invited to stay for a free catered luncheon immediately after the program, and registration is requested by Friday, Oct. 31, at legacyacademyde.org/calendar.
