Viola B. Tingle, business owner
Viola B. Tingle, 76 of Delmar, Md., formerly of Selbyville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Thursday, May 12, 2011, at her home.
She was born March 6, 1935, in Millsboro, daughter of the late John and Viola Jones. Mrs. Tingle worked with her husband in their family business, Delmarva Sheet Metal in Pittsville, Md. before retiring in 1993. Viola will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Elmer Bert Tingle in 2001; and her son, Danny Tingle in 1999. She is survived by a son, Sonny Tingle and his wife Libby of Millsboro; two daughters, Sherry Silver and her husband Jim of Virginia Beach, Va. and Lisa Joyner and her husband Bob of Delmar; 13 grandchildren, Joshua, Isaiah, Jeremy and Gabrielle Joyner, Shannon, Sydney, Jamie and Lindsey Silver, Jacky Shockley, Annie, Nathan, Matt and Ryan Tingle; three great-grandchildren, Haley Tingle, Rorie Rickroad and Andrew Shockley; and two sisters, Aline Taylor and husband Carl of Dagsboro and Delores McClintock and her husband Tom of North Carolina.
A funeral service will be held at noon Monday, May 16, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., where friends and family may call after 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Millsboro Cemetery.
