Wayland J. Clogg, USDA retiree
Wayland J. “Sonny” Clogg, 85, of Dagsboro, passed away at Atlantic General Hospital Monday, Sept. 25, 2023.
He was born in Dagsboro July 22, 1938, to the late Paul and Helen Vickers Clogg. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Curnie and Flossie Clogg; and a sister, Iris Brittingham and her husband Russell.
Sonny retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture after 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, vegetable gardening, yard work, and spending time with his family and friends. Sonny was known to be gentle, kind, and easygoing, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Joyce Ann Clogg of Dagsboro; one sister, Beverly C. Evans of Dagsboro; one nephew, Christopher Evans and his wife Bernadette of Waynesboro, Va.; and one great-nephew, Liam Evans. Sonny was blessed with many special friends and extended family members.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Dagsboro Redmen’s Memorial Cemetery.
