West Side New Beginnings hosts back-to-school giveaway

August 30, 2023

School is right around the corner, and West Side New Beginnings Community Center held its third annual Back-to-School Supplies Giveaway Aug. 26, when dozens of youngsters received the essentials to get off to a great start for the 2023-24 school year.

The attendees received backpacks, pencils, tablets, erasers, glue sticks, scissors, crayons, rulers, hand sanitizer, tissues and more. The children and their families were also treated to a tasty lunch of barbecued chicken and hot dogs from S.E. Brittingham BBQ and Catering.

“Having an event like this makes the impossible possible by helping to expand young minds,” said West Side New Beginnings co-founder Diaz Bonville. “This connects us with the community because kindness builds communities.”

The event was sponsored by S.E. Brittingham Enterprises, S.E. Brittingham BBQ and Catering, Lawn & Order Lawncare LLC and All American Movers, and the West Rehoboth Children and Youth Program.
