William M. Golden, retired union president

William M. Golden, 77, of Lewes peacefully passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born March 6, 1942, in South Amboy, N.J., son of the late William and Mary Golden.

Mr. Golden worked for many years as the union president of Shell Oil Company, from which he retired. He married Judy (Dolce) Golden Sept. 30, 1994, in New Jersey. They retired to Lewes where Mr. Golden enjoyed boating, hunting, but most of all fishing in his spare time.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Golden was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Cummings and his brother, Paul Golden. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Judy Golden; two sons: William Golden and his wife Tina of New Port Richey, Fla., and Michael Golden and his wife Linny of Union, Mo.; two stepsons: Phil Brooks, and Jeff Brooks and his wife Christine; 10 grandchildren: Vanessa, Michael, Jax, Jacqleen, Jager, Lindsey, Zach, Nick, Justin and Jason; two step-grandchildren: Justin and Jason; two brothers: Dennis and Robert “Bobby” Golden; and one sister, Helen Golden.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m.

Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
