Wilmington Ballet to perform at Milton Theatre Feb. 11

The Wilmington Ballet will present “Deep Roots,'” a mesmerizing showcase of African-American arts and culture set to take place at 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 11, at Milton Theatre, 110 Union St., Milton.

“Deep Roots” will feature graceful dance, powerful storytelling and breathtaking performances that pay homage to the resilience, creativity and contributions of African Americans throughout history. Jonathan Whitney's artist and musician collective, Celebration of Black Joy, will headline. The stellar lineup includes performances by Jonathan Whitney, Nadjah Nicole, Jea Street and Kim "Metaphor" Graham.

Sterling Cannon, Wilmington Ballet artistic and executive director, will premiere a new work. The audience also will be treated to works by Ashley SK Davis from Pieces of a Dream Dance Theater, as well as M. Amber Spivey and I AM Art in Motion.

A wine tasting is included with ticket purchases.
