Women’s club luncheon April 2 to benefit scholarship, literacy program

The GFWC Women’s Club of Indian River will host a luncheon Thursday, April 2, at The Landing Bar and Grille, Plantation Lakes Golf & Country Club, Millsboro, to benefit Read Aloud Delaware and the WCIR scholarship program.

The guest speaker will be Stacy Penaranda, Read Aloud Delaware Sussex County director. The organization’s mission is to create a lifelong impact through early childhood literacy and for every child in Delaware to have the foundational literacy skills needed to succeed in school and life.

WCIR awards an annual scholarship to a student who resides in Millsboro and has shown a commitment to leadership, their studies, and their community through volunteerism.
