Wynita Elaine Slade, Rehoboth hotel worker
Wynita Elaine Slade, 68, of Georgetown was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday, April 20, 2019, at her home in Georgetown. Elaine's sister Sheila M. Slade was with her at the time of her death.
Elaine, as she was known to her family and friends, was born Nov. 18, 1950, the third child of the late Fred D. Drummond and Edith M. Garrison-Drummond. Elaine was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Inc. for over 15 years. She was educated in the public schools of Sussex County. She attended George Washington Carver School, Frankford, and William C. Jason High School, Georgetown.
Elaine was employed by Atlantic Sands Hotel and retired from The Boardwalk Plaza Hotel in Rehoboth Beach. She was also a caregiver for her sister Sheila Slade and mother for over 20 years. She enjoyed her trips with the Sussex County CHEER Centers, shopping at her favorite stores especially for her grandson Zaiden, and hanging with her sisters.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Fred D. and Edith M. Drummond; son, Alton M. Slade; and a brother, Willie F. Slade.
Elaine leaves to cherish her memory; her son Linnard L. Slade of Millsboro; three grandsons, Craig O. Scott of Ohio, Tobias M. Parker of Conley, Ga., and Zaiden L. Hopkins-Slade of Millsboro; five sisters, Edith Wescott of Seaford, Phillis Thomas of Dover, Sheila Slade of Georgetown, Loveie Godwin of Frankford and Sabara Brady (James) of Frederica; one brother, Fred Slade of Felton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
