Zombie Fest to return to Milton

Milton Theatre is bringing Zombie Fest back to Milton.
After being in Dewey Beach in 2019 and canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic last year, Zombie Fest will return Saturday, Oct. 16.
Events for the festival are still to be announced, as the theater is working with the state with regards to COVID guidelines.
Spokesman J.P. Lacap said the theater had planned to return last year under the theme “Homecoming,” before it was canceled. He said the plan is to keep the same theme, with outdoor live music, sideshows, food and beer trucks, face painting, vendors and a kids’ version of Zombie Fest, although how much of those things will depend on social distancing and capacity limitations mandated by the state.
Lacap said there are also plans to have a Zombie Homecoming Dance, and hopefully, the return of the Zombie Walk. He said all of the events will be within Milton Theatre property, with music at the Quayside Stage, events inside the theater, in the artists house next to the theater and in the parking lot behind the artists house.
For the 2019 edition, the theater moved Zombie Fest to Northbeach in Dewey Beach after disagreements with town officials over logistics. The event was well-attended - nearly 500 tickets were sold prior to the event with more sold on the day of the festival - but the theater’s intention was to eventually return to Milton, where the festival started in 2014.
Updates on Zombie Fest can be found at Milton Theatre’s website, www.miltontheatre.com, or at the Zombie Fest Facebook page.
