Summer League Championship Night

Elementary Division

Once the thunder and lightning passed through the Lewes area, the elementary division championship game between the #1 seeded, Dunes, and the #3 seeded, Tides and the teams played to a 0-0 result in regulation time. Using the shooting our procedure from FIH, the two teams took their opening round of shots. Layla Conn scored first and gave a brief lead to the Tides, Bre Elliott countered for the Dunes to tie the score. Shea Danahy again put the Tides into the lead but Anna Crenshaw score to re-tie the game. The second round of the shoot out began and Emilyn Swope was able to score the sudden victory goal to give the championship to the Dunes.

Senior Division

In the senior division championship game between the Seahawks and the Baffins, Amanda Sponaugle scored first for the Seahawks at 12:47 but Cami Smith got the Baffins back into a tie with her goal at 10:58 on an assist from Taylor Smith. Early in the second half Sierra Jester scored (19:20) to give the lead back to the Seahawks but, again, the Baffins battled back and tied the game on a penalty corner shot by Kaleigh Cordrey at 6:44. The game ended at 2-2 after regulation time expired.

Again the shoot out procedure started with Amanda Sponaugle scoring to put the Seahawks up but the Baffins closed out the championship with goals from Cami Smith, Maddie Wilber and Rylie Cordrey to end the shoot out.
