Summer League Week 1

 

Elementary Division-

On opening night in this division, the Guards defeated the Dunes behind a hat trick by Brielle DiStefano. In the second game in the division, the Waves got a 3rd quarter goal from Emerson Allen to earn the 1-0 win over the Tides. On Wednesday evening the  Guards defeated the Tides by a final of 5-2. Brielle DiStefano again earned a hat trick and Ellis Hay had a pair of goals for the Guards. Evan Chubb had both goals for the Tides. The Waves earned a 3-0 win over the Waves. Elyse Van Heest, Noelle Fraundorfer and Finley Allen did the scoring for the Waves.

Senior Division-

The opening game of the division saw the Bengals come from behind to defeat the Corals. Sommer Dorman and Riley K,lopp had the Corals in the lead by 2-1 at half with Avery Congelton having the goal for the Bengals. Congelton tied the game midway through the 3rd quarter and Riley Cordrey got the game winner with 3 seconds left in the quarter. Congelton got her hat trick goal at 7:20 to seal the victory. Ion game two, the Baffins defeated the Seahawks by a final of 6-0. Lily Ashby’s pair of goals in the first half got the team rolling. Rilyn Lehman earned a pair of 3rd quarter goals followed by a goal by Elise Westbrook and Ashby’s third goal finished off the scoring. The last game of the evening had the Artics beat the Pumas by a final of 4-0. Ally Miller (2), Liv Muir and Abby Kane had the goals.

On Wednesday evening, the Corals took the early lead over the Seahawks with a pair of goals by Sommer Dorman and Kailey McMahon in the opening quarter. Colleen Holohan and Cadence McMahon finished the scoring for the Corals. Riley Patro had the solo for the Seahawks to make the final 5-1.

The second game of the night was a back and forth battle ,with Abby Kane and Hailey Moore getting thee first half goals for the Artics. The team then held the Bengals scoreless in the second half for a 2-0 win. The nightcap was a 1-0 forfeit win for the Pumas when the Baffins was missing too many athletes. In the friend match between the mixed squad, Lily Ashby had a solo and Victorie Moritz and a pair of goals.
