The Fairy World in a Bottle

Milton Holly Festival revealed some local artisans who ply their craft and aren’t getting mainstream attention. I will post a few here from time to time, so please share!

Jan. 5, and winter is bearing down. Our first snow fall is slated for the next couple days, and it makes me think of the outside people, animals and fairies too. I imagine they have a way of digging in a few feet underground where the temps are more constant (I might need to verify this but I remember a story about this). So these photos show how I am going to imagine the creatures this winter.

Annie Bishop, owner of Magnolia Street Antiques, created these little beauties in a large beautiful jar.

  • Photography grounds me and elates me. I am inspired by nature and its perfection. I see things that compel me to take a photograph, things that are ordinary, or small and go unseen by others. This is my purpose as a visual story teller. See my work in the Beach Paper and the Cape Gazette, or visit my website denyhoweth.com.
