Dewey Beach's Starboard restaurant beat out 16 contestants to claim the top spot in the Rusty Rudder's 13th annual Chili Cookoff in Dewey Beach.

The contest was held April 16 on the back deck under beautiful blue skies. New local band Reverend Lewes kept the deck hopping.

For the second straight year, the Delaware Distilling Company took second place overall.

Andrew Pearce won the People's Choice award.

Lindsey Nonnenmocher won the judge's choice amateur division, with Rehoboth's David Graves, and his venison chili finishing in second.

Also for the second straight year, Lisa Abel of Ocean View won the Best Decorated Table award and finished second in the People's Choice award with her Hill Billy Chili.

The Chili Fest is a fundraiser for the Delaware Valley chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. A percentage of the drinks sold during the event are donated to the nonprofit group.
