Dewey Beach Patrol rookies make it official
Performance on test makes them full-fledged guards

Twenty Dewey Beach Patrol first-year lifeguards put their skills to the test July 15 in the annual rookie competition. Events included buoy charges, 220-yard soft sand sprint, half-mile run, push-ups, 50-yard sprint swim, two-minute line charges and the 82-foot stand pull. When all the points were tabulated, Trevor Kane took top honors as DBP Rookie of the Year with Trent Marshall in second place, Grant Otto in third, Connor Dorf in fourth and Connor David in fifth.
