I would like to take a moment to thank the community for the amazing outpouring of suport after the tragic loss of my Dewey Beach business, Ed's Chicken and Crabs, Aug. 9.
I would like to start by thanking the late Dick Catts for the opportunity to start my business 38 years ago.
I also want to thank the Catts family for allowing me to continue after Dick's passing.
I want to send a special thank you to Steve "Monty" Montgomery and his staff at The Starboard as well as the other local businesses that planned, contributed to and participated in the amazing celebration on Aug. 24 at The Starboard for Ed's Chicken and Crabs - 38 years.
I also want to thank Speaker of the House Pete Schwartzkopf, as well as Sen. Ernie Lopez and the 148th General Assembly of Delaware, for the wonderful tribute to my years as a local businessman.
I want to graciously thank our local volunteer fire department, as well as the state and Dewey Beach police departments, for their heroic efforts.
A huge thank you goes out to the mayor and council of Dewey Beach for their gracious act. I am so thankful to have been blessed with so many loyal staff and wonderful customers for 38 years. I am also thankful for the support of so many of my family and friends.
Your visits, comments, good memories and kind wishes have been so appreciated.
