The Rev. V. Paul Sherwood, ordained minister

The Rev. V. Paul Sherwood, 93, of Georgetown, went home to be with Jesus Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born Nov. 8, 1923, near Marion, Ohio, to the late Rev. Jason and Anna Grant Sherwood.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II.

He was an ordained minister for over 35 years ministering in six states before becoming the minister for Milton Wesleyan Church in Milton for 10 years, and then the minister for Georgetown Wesleyan Church for three years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Marion Haas Sherwood; two brothers, Kenneth and Maynard; and a grandson, John Souder.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Eather Sherwood; three sons, Paul Sherwood (Debra), Richard Sherwood (Carol), and David Sherwood (Jennifer); and two daughters, Marion Marvel (James) and Debra Souder (David); stepchildren, Arlene Delaney (Ron), Donald Lofland, Carol Brittingham (Mike), Christine Tingle and Tim Lofland (Orleen); 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton. The Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. at The Water's Edge Church, 415 Union St., Milton. The Rev. Tim Wilson will be officiating. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.
