Worcester Prep lax teams win ESIAC championships
14 athletes earn all-conference honors
The WPS Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse Team defeated rivals Saints Peter and Paul 17-10 to win the ESIAC Championship May 12. The WPS Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse Team defeated Gunston School 12-8 to win the ESIAC Championship May 12. WPS junior Tucker Brown was named Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference Player of the Year for boys’ lacrosse. This past winter he was Player of the Year for basketball in addition to being voted MVP by his teammates. Brown was a captain and key attack/midfielder who helped lead WPS to the ESIAC Tournament title. He is a highly competitive three-sport student-athlete who plans to continue his lacrosse career in college. Brown resides in Rehoboth Beach with his parents, Diane and Doug, and his younger brother Mason. His older brother Reece, a 2016 grad, currently attends James Madison University.
Both the Worcester Prep boys’ and girls’ varsity lacrosse teams won their respective 2017 Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference tournament, and 14 of those student-athletes were named to the 2017 ESIAC All-Conference Team. Junior Tucker Brown was awarded ESIAC Boys’ Lacrosse Player of the Year.
