Dance classes for singles, couples forming now
Mark Twain is quoted as saying, “Work like you don’t need the money. Love like you’ve never been hurt. Dance like nobody is watching.”
This winter, local residents will have an opportunity to learn a selection of new dances, everything from fast, spicy salsa to merengue, bachata, Argentine tango and more. A group of talented dance instructors will offer a variety of classes. Yvonne Cimo, director of Dance Moves and Manners - a Social Dance Company, has put together a program with a variety of workshops for singles and couples.
To be able to have confidence and do something new with a partner is a great morale booster. For singles, it’s a great way to meet new friends.
Dance is a fun, social way to bring community together. Besides the social benefits of dance, there are multiple physical benefits including better balance, higher degree of concentration, and good brain and aerobic exercise.
Workshops include spicy Latin classes with Wayne and Margo Faircloth offered on Thursday nights at Midway Fitness and Racquetball in Midway Shopping Center, Rehoboth Beach. Argentine tango classes taught by Yvonne Cimo along with guest instructors from Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. will be offered on Monday nights at the Cape Henlopen Senior Center at 11 Christian St. in downtown Rehoboth. Classes are forming now and are from 7 to 9 p.m. No partner is necessary.
