Coastal Club packs backpacks for high school students

Volunteers from the Coastal Club and the Cape Henlopen Elks Club spent the afternoon Aug. 26 packing 90 backpacks with school supplies for Cape Henlopen High School economically disadvantaged students. This is the second year they have tackled this project. Last year the clubs hosted a similar event in Milton.
Along with the school supplies, the groups also collected toiletries. Funds were raised by donations and raffles at the Elks and Coastal clubs. Members of the Five Points community also contributed. The backpacks will be handed out by high school counselors.
