‘Sherlock Holmes’ dinner theatre at Blackwall Hitch Oct. 31

October 30, 2018

As the summer season comes to a close, Blackwall Hitch, one of Rehoboth Beach’s premier farm-fresh restaurants, adds new fall flavors to its menu and plans an evening of mystery for locals on Halloween.

With Chef Tim Harley and a flavorful fall menu in tow, Blackwall Hitch brings fresh ingredients and modern cuisine to the Rehoboth Beach community year-round. Included in the fall menu update are smoked corn chowder, grilled pork chops with fig-bacon jam, crab-stuffed rockfish and a variety of fresh dishes everyone in the family will love.

“The culinary minds behind our seasonal menu were inspired by the warming spice notes of cinnamon, allspice and cloves - flavors that break up the chill in the air,” said Mente Lawson, corporate executive chef for Blackwall Hitch. “Blackwall Hitch is the exquisitely comfy place to gather, and we want our fall menu to bring guests into the restaurant to celebrate and create lasting memories.”

In addition to the new menu offerings, Blackwall Hitch is adding an element of mystery and suspense for its Halloween patrons. For $45, guests will be treated to a three-course meal prepared by Chef Tim and experience “The Ghost of Sherlock Holmes,” a murder-mystery show presented by Vince Wilson. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. on Halloween, Wednesday, Oct. 31.

At this show, guests will choose from a select themed menu – including Jack-o-Lantern Soup and Death by 1,000 Beets Salad – and walk away with more than just ghost stories of the supernatural history surrounding Sherlock Holmes.

The mysteries presented involve events from the past and present colliding due to supernatural forces – but not to worry, no supernatural forces will be cooking up this extravagant meal.
