Sussex Academy names Lilly Yenovkian poetry recitation contest winner

In December, several Sussex Academy students participated in the Poetry Out Loud National Recitation Contest.

As the school contest winner, sophomore Lilly Yenovkian of Rehoboth Beach will advance to the state semifinals Tuesday, Feb. 5. The winner of the state contest will advance to the nationals in Washington, D.C.

Each winner at the state level will receive $200 and an all-expense-paid trip with an adult chaperone to Washington, D.C., to compete in the national championship.

Sussex Academy is a public charter, tuition-free school centrally located in Georgetown. Serving grades 6-12, the school practices a project-based learning approach and all 11th- and 12th-graders participate in the International Baccalaureate Program.
