Rehoboth fire company holds awards banquet
Volunteer organization responded to more than 4,000 fires and EMS calls in 2018

The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company hosted its annual awards banquet Jan. 26 at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.
The fire company operates two stations on its own, at 219 Rehoboth Ave. and 36027 Airport Road, and one jointly with the Lewes Fire Department, at 21194 John J. Williams Highway.
According to statistics found on the fire company’s website, in 2018 the fire company responded to 642 fire calls and 3,488 emergency medical service calls. The same database shows the fire company has responded to more than 12,300 fire calls and emergency medical service calls since 2016.
