Alva Ora ‘Bud’ Wagner, loved his family
Alva Ora ‘Bud” Wagner, 85, of Harbeson, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and a long-term resident of Harbeson, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford surrounded by his family.
Bud was born in Greenwood, son of the late Margaret Wagner, and then he was raised by the late May and Wallace Kopple of Harbeson.
After serving in the U.S. Army, Bud worked at Edgehill Pharmacy and was co-owner of W&W Piling. The last 20 years of his life Bud enjoyed working at Shady Oak Farm alongside his family.
He leaves his wife of 61 years, Jeanette (Gross) Wagner; his daughter, Sharon Mews; his son, Jeffrey Wagner and his fiancée Lisa; his sister, Doris Clendaniel; two nephews; three granddaughters, Riley, Caitlyn and Kelsey; two great-grandsons, Declan and Levi; and many close friends.
He enjoyed many things in life but mostly loved spending time with his family, working in the yard, and being outdoors. He could often be found giving his grandkids and relatives tractor or golf cart rides, playing games with family and friends or spending quality time with Jeanette.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Feb. 11, at 12:30 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call after 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
