Bayhealth to offer IV and Infusion Therapy training March 20

March 13, 2019

Bayhealth, in conjunction with Exceptional Care for Children and state agencies in Delaware, will offer a community health education program on central venous access devices for nurses in long-term care, assisted living, home healthcare, hospice and outpatient care settings.

The IV & Infusion Therapy course will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, in classrooms 2227 and 2228 at Bayhealth Sussex Campus, Milford.

Recent statistics show that the use of central venous access devices has been increasing outside the traditional hospital setting. The multidisciplinary team developed this course to reduce complications and empower healthcare professionals with proper tools needed to provide best practice in the care of central venous access devices. The goal of this class is to provide basic education on IV and infusion therapy using such devices.

The cost is $75, which includes supplies and policy guidelines. A total of 3.83 nursing contact hours will be offered for this program. The deadline to register is Wednesday, March 13. To register, call 302-744-7135.

For more information, contact Bayhealth Senior Nurse Manager for Dialysis, Vascular Access, and Medical Infusions Gina Collins, MSN, RN, VA-BC, at 302-744-7324.
