Council on wildlife, freshwater fish to meet June 25
Delaware’s Advisory Council on Wildlife and Freshwater Fish will meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, in the DNREC Auditorium, 89 Kings Highway, Dover. The meeting will include DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife presentations on the 2019 Delaware Sport Fish Tournament and on recent division public land acquisitions.

Milton board meeting cancelled
Milton Board of Adjustment has cancelled its Tuesday, June 25 meeting. The meeting was cancelled due to a lack of agenda items.
Village of Five points board election canceled
A board of directors election scheduled June 15 for the Village of Five Points Property Association was canceled because of lack of a quorum. John Eikrem, president of the association, said that no business could be conducted, including the election, because of the lack of a quorum. According to the association’s bylaws, he said, the current board will remain in place until the next annual meeting is held. Eikrem said the board will decide when the next meeting will be held at its next meeting.
Rehoboth parking committee to meet June 24
The Rehoboth Beach Parking Advisory Committee has scheduled a meeting for 10 a.m., Monday, June 24, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The agenda calls for a review of recommendations made to commissioners in 2018 and a renewed discussion on current parking issues. Rehoboth parks and shade tree to meet June 24
The Rehoboth Beach Parks and Shade Tree Commission has scheduled a meeting for 2 p.m., Monday, June 24, in the commissioners room of city hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct an administrative appeal hearing for the property located at 510 Lee Street. The owner Geno Vento is appealing the denial of a tree removal permit and any planting requirements. For more information call 302-227-6181. Rehoboth Beach City Hall closed July 4
In observance of Independence Day, Rehoboth Beach City Hall, 229 Rehoboth Ave., will be closed Thursday, July 4. The city will be hosting its annual fireworks show Wednesday, July 3, but city hall will have normal hours that day, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Residential trash pickup will remain on the regular schedule. Wheatley reappointed to Sussex P&Z
At its June 18 meeting, Sussex County Council voted 5-0 to reappoint Sussex County Planning and Zoning Commission Chairman Bob Wheatley of Laurel to another three-term term. Wheatley was first appointed to the commission in 1995. The commission rules on subdivision applications, reviews site plans and makes recommendations to county council on conditional-use and rezoning applications. Wheatley was nominated by District 1 Councilman Mike Vincent of Seaford.
Sussex council awards grants to nonprofits
Sussex County Council awarded the following councilmanic grants at its June 18 meeting: $5,000 to Georgetown Historical Society for carriage house landscaping; $1,500 to City of Seaford for its 25th annual Nanticoke Riverfest Festival; and $500 to Seaford Tomorrow for 1st Saturday events.
Sussex County Council meeting set for June 25
Sussex County Council will meet at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, in the county administration building, 2 The Circle, Georgetown. Lewes council special meeting set June 24
Lewes Mayor and City Council will meet at 11 a.m., Monday, June 24, at city hall. The group will consider action on a collective bargaining agreement for the police department with the Teamsters, consider a resolution directing the Lewes Board of Public Works to require a pre-annexation agreement prior to providing water and sewer services to properties outside the city, and consider amendments to city code related to water and sewer for annexed property. Lewes selling three beach lots
Lewes Mayor and City Council agreed to sell three residential lots off Cape Henlopen Drive. Two lots on Tennessee Avenue near the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal, each about an eighth of an acre, are listed for $425,000 each.
The third neighboring lot along Cape Henlopen Drive, a triangular parcel about a third of an acre, is listed for $395,000. The lots are zoned R3, residential beach, and have access to city water and sewer and natural gas from Chesapeake Utilities. Sussex council awards grants to nonprofits
Sussex County Council awarded the following councilmanic grants during its June 11 meeting: $3,500 to Gumboro Community Association to help revitalize the grounds and landscaping at Gumboro Community Center; $1,000 to Town of Greenwood for Night Out; and $1,000, including a $500 youth grant, to TeenSHARP for Delaware Goes to College Sussex Boot Camp expenses.
