Local businesses challenged to pack the backpack Aug. 16

August 8, 2019

Three local businesses are partnering to collect backpacks packed with school supplies for Cape Henlopen School District children who are homeless or low-income.

McCabe Home Innovations, All Serve Enterprise and Meibaum Excavation are challenging local businesses to collect backpacks and fill them with school supplies for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The partnering businesses are coordinating this effort with a contact person who visits and communicates with these children and families throughout the year.

Backpacks filled with school supplies may be dropped off from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 16, at Haute Interiors, 17370 Coastal Highway, Lewes, just north of Surf Bagel. Anyone may drop off items during that time frame. Pickups are available upon request.

For more information or to request a pickup for collected supplies, call Brittney McCabe at 302-430-8338, Jami Brammer-Ferro at 302-841-8947 or Mali Belcamino at 302-212-9969. All are challenged to be the heroes that the local community needs.
