Conservation district to host local work group meeting March 5

February 12, 2020

The Sussex Conservation District will hold a local work group meeting at 9 a.m., Thursday, March 5, in the conference room at the USDA Agriculture Service Center, 21315 Berlin Road, Unit 4, Georgetown. This event is free and open to the public.

The group lets stakeholders discuss current USDA Farm Bill programs administered by the Natural Resource Conservation Service, conservation needs and resource concerns in Sussex County. The outcomes of the group discussion will be included in the State Technical Committee meeting this spring. The committee serves in an advisory capacity to the conservation service on implementation of the natural resource conservation provisions of the Farm Bill legislation.

According to David Baird, SCD district coordinator, the local working groups should be diverse and focused on agricultural interests and natural resource issues existing in the community.

People with disabilities who require accommodations to attend or participate should contact SCD one week prior to the event date.

Seating is limited, so preregistration is encouraged. For more information or to register, contact Bobbi Heck, 302-856-3990, Ext. 3, or bobbi.heck@de.nacdnet.net, or go to www.sussexconservation.org/events.
