Sussex Tech donates thermometers to CHEER Inc.

April 20, 2020

CHEER Inc., the nonprofit senior services agency in Sussex County, was having difficulty obtaining thermometers in order to comply with the state mandate to take the temperature of all persons, including staff, who enter any of its facilities.

Rep. Ruth Briggs King, R-Georgetown, heard about the agency’s dilemma and contacted Sussex Technical High School where thermometers are used in health professions classes.

Since school is currently canceled, Sussex Tech Superintendent Stephen Guthrie graciously agreed to loan 10 thermometers to the senior services agency for use until school is back in session.

The CHEER team extends its appreciation to Briggs King and the school for helping to maintain the health and well-being of senior citizens in Sussex County.
