Worcester Prep math students advance to state-level competition

A group of 10 Worcester Prep Middle School Mathcounts team members competed virtually in the annual Mathcounts Regional Competition Feb. 5.
Two of them, seventh-grader Ansh Batra of Rehoboth Beach and eighth-grader Allen Zhang of Lewes, qualified for the chapter invitational level, with Zhang ranking third and Batra ranking fifth out of 57 competitors.
Out of 16 competitors in the chapter invitational Feb. 25, Batra placed first and Zhang placed second, advancing them to the state level.
Out of 45 competitors in the state competition March 25, Zhang placed 22nd and Batra placed 31st.
