Larry Savage appointed to Milton council
Larry Savage has been appointed as the seventh member of Milton Town Council, taking the seat of the late Councilman Michael Coté.
He was nominated by Mayor Ted Kanakos at council’s May 3 meeting and was approved unanimously.
Savage is an Army veteran who spent a 39-year career with Wilmington Trust. He has lived in Milton for more than 40 years and has served in various town capacities: as treasurer of Milton Community Foundation, a member of the Milton Board of Adjustment and chairman of the town’s board of elections.
“There’s no doubt he’s a pillar of our community,” Kanakos said.
Savage received a hearty ovation from those in attendance at the May 3 meeting upon being appointed. He will fill the remaining time on Coté’s term, which runs until March 2022. Coté passed away April 3.
“I’m very pleased I was appointed,” Savage said. “It’s a privilege and an honor to serve the citizens of the town of Milton.”
