Run with the Bull This Weekend in Dewey Beach; Hippiefest Slated for Nearby Milford
It's hard to believe that we're just a couple of weeks away now from the Labor Day Holiday Weekend and the traditional end to the summer season at the Delaware and Maryland beaches.
It's been a great Summer of 2021 but, as always, it's gone way too fast. It's not over just yet though, there's still plenty of days to hit the beach and/or the boardwalk and have a great time in the coastal region.
We have a number of fun festivals and gatherings to tell you about this week, the next to last weekend of the month of August.
As we did last week with the championship skimboarding event, we begin again this week in Dewey Beach with one of those events that everyone needs to witness at least once.
So let's get right to it and tell you about this week's featured events...
Running of the Bull (August 21)
It's about a month later than when it's usually held, but the wild and whacky "Running of the Bull" is back for 2021 in Dewey Beach.
Organizers of this year's event, planned for Saturday, August 21, has announced that the bull is vaccinated, healthy and ready to make his 24th annual run through the streets and the shoreline of Dewey.
As is the custom each year, some revelers dress in traditional Pamplona white clothing and red bananas, while others don swimsuits, summer attire and really whatever the heck they feel like wearing, and celebrate Dewey Beach style.
The celebration begins at the Starboard, where the excitement builds until the actual "run" begins usually around 2 p.m.
If you have yet to witness this insanely whacky summertime event, you may want to check this one out.

Milford Hippiefest (August 21)
Snow Hill Renaissance Faire (August 21-22)
The historic Furnace Town site in Snow Hill is the site this weekend for the town's first ever Renaissance Faire.
Meant to "celebrate the spirit" of the 14th-16th centuries in Europe, there's sure to be plenty of kings, queens, knights in shinging armor and lots of other colorful characters on hand for the event.
Members of both the Community Players of Salisbury and the Ocean Pines Players will be at the event, dressed in period costumes and entertaining the public throughout the day with different skits and plays.
There will also be live music, games for both children and adults, crafts, face painting, hair braiding and live demonstrations from broom makers, blacksmiths, woodworkers and more.
The Ocean City Pipe and Drum volunteer marching band will also be making an appearance during the course of the day.
Tickets are $10 per day for adults, $5 per day for children 12 to 18 and free for anyone under 12. They can be purchased on-site or online by clicking here.
The Snow Hill Renaissance Faire is scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
