Virginia Lee Lynch, family matriarch

Virginia Lee Lynch, 79, of Greenwood was born Aug. 3, 1942, in Cambridge, Md., to the late Harry and Marion Jackson. She gained her angel wings Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021.
She was a wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Virginia worked side by side with her late husband, Richard William Lynch Sr., to build their business. Her greatest accomplishments were being a great wife, mother and grandmother. She loved everyone with her big smile and infectious laugh that could turn your day around.
Virginia enjoyed gardening every summer, working in her yard, and enjoyed spending time at the senior center in Greenwood with many friends playing cards, bingo or social gatherings. She loved to travel and spend time with family.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded by her son, Keith Allen Lynch.
Virginia is survived by her son, Richard William Lynch Jr. of Greenwood; daughter Laurie Kathleen Richardson and husband David of White House, Tenn.; grandchildren, Mark Allen Richardson and wife Aubrey, Hilary Erin Richardson, Daniel Lee Richardson and wife Katie, and Charlene Lynne Dalious and husband Lee; great-grandson, Owen Dean McAlister; great-granddaughters, Brandi Keylia Dalious and Brie Lynne Dalious; with the newest addition of a great-great-granddaughter, Alyson Grace Ramsey. Virginia is one of 11 children, survived by sisters Judi Breazile, Lucy Hagadorn and Betsy Schwartz.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, Friday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m. A time of visitation will begin at noon. Interment will be held at Milford Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Greenwood CHEER Center, 41 Schultze Road, Greenwood, DE 19950.
