Worcester students celebrate Veterans Day
November 17, 2021
Fifth-grade students from Worcester Preparatory School who visited the Worcester County Veterans Memorial in Ocean Pines, Md., Oct. 8, used what they learned from the trip to help celebrate Veterans Day. They made and personalized cards to send to veterans, thanking them for their service.
The field trip was intended to help students understand the concept of the memorial and what it means to be a veteran. During the trip, students participated in several activities, including studying the commemorative pavers, practicing folding the American flag with Stephen Decatur High School Navy JROTC cadets, and learning American flag history and etiquette.
Celebrating 50 years, WPS is an independent, college prep day school for prekindergarten through 12th-grade students.
