Kimberly Lynn Yates, loved family, friends

Kimberly Lynn Yates, 62, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at Naamans Creek Country Manor in Garnet Valley, Pa.

Kim was unique from her birth Jan. 1, 1960, as the first New Year's Day baby in Delaware. A longtime resident of Chester County, she most recently resided in Kennett Square, Pa. Kim graduated from Brandywine High School, Class of 1978. She received her bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Delaware in 1982. Kim was proud to have been a member of the sorority Alpha Phi, and also held the position of president of the organization at one time. She was employed over the years in the financial industry in wealth management. Kim loved traveling, especially to the coast and being near the water. Her true enjoyment was spending time with friends, family, and her beloved Maine Coon cat, Louis.

Kim is survived by her loving parents, Marvin Jewel and Gail Weeden Yates, two devoted sisters; Michelle Yates Reckert and husband Peter A. Reckert, and Beverly Yates Walter and husband Dr. Thomas Walter; nieces and nephews, Paige Reckert Happ and husband Tyler J. Happ, Hope Kimberly Reckert, Brittany Walter Woods and husband Matthew R. Woods, and Justin Thomas Walter; as well as a host of dear friends.

Services and interment will remain private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kim's memory may be made to the hospice of the donor's choice.
