Lullaby Learning Center preschool students ages 3-5 recently studied bike safety and practiced riding on their backyard bike trail in preparation for the Pedal for a Purpose trike-a-thon fundraiser.
Over the past several weeks, Lullaby students and families enlisted sponsors who sent donations directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Sponsorship totaled more than $14,600, and students couldn’t be happier to contribute to the extraordinary medical expenses the families of St. Jude patients face every day. Families and friends gathered May 20 to support the 51 Lullaby students who Pedaled for a Purpose in their partnership with St. Jude.
Lullaby Learning Center offers care and education to children from birth through 5 years, and provides a reputable preschool program in which students prepare for kindergarten. Lullaby’s facility and property in Harbeson is home to its school building, gymnasium and two acres of outdoor space, all dedicated to the students’ learning and well-being.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way in which the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer. Families of St. Jude never receive a bill, allowing them to focus solely on helping their children get well.
This fundraiser hit home emotionally for many in the Lullaby family. Arden MacPhee is a former Lullaby student, and her battle with childhood cancer provided much motivation. Tears fell throughout the crowd when Arden’s mother Tray Sullivan shared her family’s experiences as Arden fought and won two tough battles with cancer.
Lullaby Director Kim Sliben assured the crowd that this event will take place each year in honor of Arden.
