As part of the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation’s ongoing efforts to manage the surf-fishing program, traffic counters have been installed at the Herring Point surf-fishing crossing to evaluate traffic volumes. The goal is to have the most accurate data available that can be analyzed and used for managing the surf-fishing program in the future. The effort comes on the heels of a survey that was sent to all surf-fishing tag holders, which was aimed at learning how and when people drive on Delaware’s surf-fishing beaches.
